I see what you mean saint,I was wondering the same thing!-I think there was an after market fog kit,but it was just some rectangle hella units, the ovals may help with lining them up maybe,I was considering trying yo fit some round fogs in my,evo style!-I think it would look spot on(if youll excuse the pun) but cannot figure how to do it tidily :(

I want some 15"s!

Front fogs were an option on the Nova, using two large round units that sat in the bottom corners of the front valance.....hence why there's a space for a front fog light switch in the dash (on MKI's anyway....don't know about MKII's).

I've got an old Nova owner's manual from 86 which illustrates them.

BTW, I've recently fitted front fogs in my bumper....they're actually fastened to the metal valance, then shine through holes cut in the SR bumper.

Cheers mate ;) I've not got the seats finished yet though....something else I've got to find time to finish!

Saint....I've just read your post again, and realised I totally missed your point :p
I don't know about the egg-shaped (oval?) outlines on the back of your bumper...mines an older type (actually from a Corsa A GT) and doesn't have these outlines on, but they could be the left-overs from the moulding process...

They're made using injection moulding techniques, which requires runners and risers (holes that let the plastic in and the air out basically!), so that could be what made those.
If you look a most plastic things, you will see small round out-lines....also found on cast metal products....which is evidence of the runners and risers. You also often get definite edges on moulded/cast products, (ridges in the middle of otherwise flat surfaces for example)...these are just where the mould sections join, and you get a tiny gap leaving room for material to collect and make the small ridges.
Right....this is starting to look like an assignment on manufacturing techniques...time to stop :D

I got some big round foglights from halfords, they are the size of small plates! I can mount them to the car easily, with the brackets, but I really wanna fibre glass em in-I may bolt em to be lazy for now,go round pissing off saxo boys with em!-the only thing Im worried about fibreglassing them in about,is the front valance appears to be so close to the front bumper-I will see how I get on I think

Louise....nice. I looks very smart ;)
What lights are they?

Mine are Projector Beam thingies that are really deep....so much that I had to cut holes in the metal of the front valance to allow for it. They're actually attached to the top-side of lower flange of the valance, then point through holes in the valance from behind....if you get what I mean!

BTW....to see Louises pics full size, here's the pic URLs:

those fogs are v nice!-I really want to recess mine!-I have managed to get an original switch for the front fogs out of a nova at the breakers, its the same as the rear fog switch, except glows green!-any ideas how deep the SR front bumper is?-as in how much space between bumper and valance?-also what would be best to use to bond fogs into bumper?-I was thinking fibre glassing it, and smoothing the bumper a bit at the same time, plus if my skills prove to be good at doing this,I may hack the bumper a bit below the iron, and fit in an extra inch or 2,so it sits lower down, but then I would need to clip the bottom of the bumper to the valance properly :( this is annoying...

not sure what make the lights r rich, they r the same size as the ice blue ovals from halfords, i think he had to cut a bit away from the front cos they were touching!

other than that - im not too sure, i just bought the stuff - my fella did all the work, and i stay well out of the way :D

lol@louise.....nice one! Nice to have someone to do it all far ya hey :)

They do look really smart....he's done a good job on 'em ;)

Rob....there's not much space between the front valance and the bumper...only a couple of inch at the most, and at the bottom, there's only a inch.....hence why I had to cut through the main metal valance to get clearance.
On my bumper, there's flap/door that covers the towing-eye. When I open this you can look in side and see how little space there is between the plastic valance and the car body...not a lot!
