help my car drives like an auto

hi as said in the title my cars driving like an automatic
i was in traffic 2day and my foot slipped off the clutch pedel ( would normally stall the car right?) the problem is my car dident stall so i put my foot back on the pedel and thought lets give it a go at just slowely dumping the clutch with no acceleration by now my foot was completly off the clutch and the car started moving like on an auto has anyone had this problem befor if so do you know whats wrong?

I was thinking clutch slip, when was the last time the clutch was changed? Have you tried tightening & examine the condition of the clutch cable?

no but can gice that a look at 2morrow and im not sure when the clutch was changed last

If the tickover speed is quite high I suppose it would "creep" along without any thottle if there,s no brakes rubbing and its on a smooth level surface:)

id change the clutch, it happend to my mates golf the other day. it wont let the power get properly right?

very vaux i've had, has been able to just pull its self in any gear, with out stalling and no acelerator

It shouldn't pull away if your foot slipped straight off the pedal, it should of probably stalled,but if you gradually let the clutch up it will move just with the engine ticking over.
Diesels are cool at doing that/\ Lol

its going good, had one new arch fitted and bought a new quarter, plus two new front wings today. plus making the intercooler for it
