Quick Volt meter question

What are the increments,in volts, on the voltmeter guage?

No idea, but half way is normal when the engine is running.

Right ok. I have halfway when the engine is off and 3/4 when its running. So im guessing everything is fine.

Shame it dont tell you the values.

err to me that sounds like something dodgy goin on

possibly shafted alternator??

mines 14v i think when running? how can it be half when engine is off? you talking bout the voltage in the battery? should be arount 10-12 when off and a little more when running depending on battery condition and alternator ampage?

Sure your not looking at the oil pressure guage.
Battery should be half with engine running, and be on nothing with the engine off.

let me explain.

*When ignition is off my batt read nothing.
*With ignition is on and engine not running my batt is halfway on the guage.
*With the engine running it shows 3/4 on the guage i.e 1 block less then max.

Alternator is fine and is outputting approx 14volts.

PS i got the old style 6 Dial clocks not the facelift clocks.

long as everything seems to be running ok, then i wouldnt worry.

in fact, have you got an amp or something drawaing alot of current?

Yup thats correct.
3/4 is seems good with the engine running, must be a good condition alternator.
Mine reaches half at max, goes way down with rear screen heater etc on.

Yeh i got amp etc but its no problem dnt notice any difference. In fact at night obviouly when using fans, heated windscreen, lights, sound system its just above the half way mark. Standard 1.2 alternator.

Guess everything is running ok.
