MK1 & MK2 Bumpers

Could somebody tell me if MK2 front bumper will fit on to a MK1 without changing the entire front end.

will go straight on but the mk1 grille wont sit right as the bumper doesnt have the recess for it that the mk1 bumpers have.

a mk2 bumper will look better with a mk2 front end (grille, headlamps, wings)

the mk2 bumper dosent quite sit back far enough on a mk1. There will be a gap under the headlamps. Its been done many a time & will go on, just not to perfection.

Note a variation to the carrier bar so use the relevant carrier bar for what bumper you fit.

i had a mk2 bumper on my old one, need to use a mk1 carrage bar, with mk2 irons, also need to drill new holes to bolt the side up

with a bit of fiddling, you can get it flush with the headlights, i didn't have a gap on mine, and looked ok
