whats the widest tyre you can fit on 7.5"(J) 16s?

might be 225 but you'd never get that on the back of a nova without serious widening of the arches and the help of som spacers.

I have 205s on there already no probs. and I should be able to squeeze an extra cm either side. I have a 5door with the round arches and have grinded off the lip that folds metal back toward the car:

In that case the limiting factors are the shock body and the inner arch

True, its fookin close to the shock. I have a couple of wheels spacers but don't know where to get longer bolts. Moreover, longer locking nuts!

why do you want stupidly wide tyres anyway, u running serious bhp? im converting to 5 stud soon and using cali turbo rims with 205/40/16 tyres with a 280bhp turbo engine?

not bhp, thats wot i'm running at the moment 205/40/16. Awsome grip for handling and look great. Jus wondered what the biggest was and was considering it for the hell of it.
