Whats the best way to strenghten my con rod? shot *peening*? or another way? enough to take 200bhp.

short of having them de-seamed I dont think you can add strenth as such. Removing stress risers can help prolong the life of the rod. A std rod will not be as strong as H section competition type rods hence the cost of them.

I would guess that std 16v rods are good for nearly 200 bhp. They are probably limited by the rpm capacity.

the conrods will cope with 200 bhp easy mate no probs just keep your rev limiter to 7000/7500 no more and you will be fine just fit ARP conrod bolts for sure though as ive done this to my 2ltr 16v hope this helps you out

would it not be easier to but some H beam rods??? that way you'll have piece of mind when your revving the sh1t out of it. having said that they'll probably be fortunes.

sorry dont know anyway of strenthing (sp) apart from shot peening.
