so, i am woken thismorning by my mother saying to me "your rear window seems to have gone"

obviously, i am stunned, and immediately think that she means its been smashed

but no......

http://corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4353/27104105.jpg
the glass is still intact, and was resting conviniently in my neighbours lavender bush

http://corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4353/270933571.jpg
they also seem to have carefully folded the rear bench down without damaging it

http://corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4353/270934111.jpg
also. no damage to the tailgate area surrounding the window

http://corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4353/270934231.jpg
all they have taken is the pioneer stereo, which would be worth about ?12 second hand, they didnt even open the glove box, as i'm sure they would have taken the camera and PDA which i carelessly left there overnight

in taking my stereo, they stole the arctic monkeys album :(

and maybe damaged the dash, looking at that pic :(

http://corsasport.co.uk/carimages/4353/270945431.jpg
and this is how they did it, stanley knife inb one corner of the window, then tore the rubber all the way round til the window popped out

have to say though, well done to them for causing me the least possible inconvinience by not damaging anything more than the rubber

considereate criminals, whatever next?

yeah, also, no attempt was made to steal the car itself, and they didnt look in the glovebox as my camera was still there thismorning, it is not in the car anymore however

the thieves round here usually screwdriver your door lock or bend the door frame out. the did that on my old red sri, ruined the only mint panel on the car:wtf:

luckily the doors dont have locks, so they couldnt do that

i just dont get why they didnt steal the whole car though

Ye, as you said, i doubt its kids.
They would just put the window through, at least you can just put the window back in tho and all sorted, apart from the stereo.

more bothered about the CD itself than the stereo to be honest

and glad nothing else was taken

got a new rubber from VPSC for 23 quid delivered, so thats ok, just need to tape up the hole for now

Give it some rev

Took the words right out of my mouth - took my missus 2x 12 subs, amps and headunit from her Saxo while she was in collage for one 1 hour lecture, not to mention it was 11am and the car was in the collage carpark. :tosser:

this is exactly what i said, they seemed very considerate. caused you very little money and damage tbh. nuisence yeah but no costs really compared to what they could have done. my car got broken into for stereo, but they torched it same time too, outside my house lol!

very odd why theyve not had a quick search of car too, like you say in your glove box? obvious place to nosey id have thought:roll:

unlucky though :wtf:

My hatch got broken into twice and they didn't take much, just caused damage. Second time round they even left the snooper which was only suckered to the windscreen, but took some (broken lmfao) headlight bulbs from the glovebox :tard:

:thumb: if u havent touched or wiped near where they entered the car get talcum powder and a brush and go over the car from the back where they would of climbed in and just dust it over on the bits where ud thinkk they touched and then ull get a fingerprint come up then put sellotape over it and da da u have the persons fingerprint to take the police station but then again dont forget to ask first wether they.d take it off u as a police officer may have to do it...hope this helps otherwise unlucky just another prick who thinks they can just walk into peoples cars and take there **** unfukinbeleivable:mad:

*******s! laws need to change in this country and come down hard on criminal scum

we should enforce a punishment were when we catch them, we hang them upside down by one left, with the victim and his mates beat the cr*p out the little runts with baseball bats, cricket bats and golf clubs! :D

Coppers didnt give a sh*t when my bike got knicked but they got all ar**y at me when I made a passing comment about killing who ever took my motorbike.

Guess what 2 days later we caught the little scroat ridding it on the road - recognised him as a kid from my old school.

All he got was community service & banned for driving - umm he was too young to even hold a license.

He eventually got his just desserts.

gutting mate. when my bro's xr2 got broke into a couple of weeks ago the bent the bloody door panel out but only took a small metal tourch!

atleast you dont have to go looking round for a new window.
it took me ages to find one for mine.

Sounds about right, there was a kid round here who got a 12 month driving ban for car theft - handy, as he was only 14

Theiving ****s tried to force the lock on my sheddy 1.2 merit when it was standard, they tried to hot wire it and managed to disconnect the stereo lead on the ignition before they set off my security light. I saw them running off when it came on, defo worth the 20 quid or so from B&Q.

You can also apply for a shotgun certificate at your local police station. This works well in conjunction with the spotlight
