i know one from fuel pump goes to the carbs an some people route the big breather that should go to manifold to bottle to act as a catch tank but what about all the others there another fuel pipe an 3 vacums iirc

you dont need the fuel return on twin carbs so you can block that off, what engine is it anyway?

its a 1.4 with 1.3 head what about the vacum pipes an the two breathers that go to inlet ?

one of them 'breathers' is a water pipe i think blank the vaccum pipe off if its the one that goes too your vaccum advance

hi mate i think im right =you dont use any vacum pipes {blank them off** to the t40,s the only pipes you use are brake servo pipe and water pipe which goes into the inlet manifold and a fuel feed from the pump to the carbs block the return like phil said or take it off and dont forget to block the return on the tank also you may need a fuel pressure regulator because the carbs dont need lots of fuel pressure they only require a bit ie 1bar ish:thumb: hope this helps what inlet manifold are you using mate

dos the water pipe go to the inlet cos on my inlet there is unioin for brake servo pipe and an even bigger uniom at the other side i guess this is for water pipe do i have to get some sort of adaptor to make the nova water pipe fit on the big union on the inlet.

pics of the inlet can be seen on a post i put up a while asking what manifold it was its in this forum

water pipe outlet near alternator needs connecting to the heater matrix, servo pipe to large threaded union near dizzy, breather pipes can be left to vent to atmosphere or connected to a catch tank. what fuel pump are you using?

if you are using the same inlet as me you are going to have a bitch finding an adapter if all you have got is a thread to connect the pipe on. i tried all sorts of standard parts and plumbers merchants ect and had to make one in the end

the standard 1.4 pump with regulator

the pics of the inlet are on this page of forum post title something like what manifold is this

womble how did u make your adaptor

the standard 1.4 pump with regulator
outlet from pump to reg, outlet from reg to first carb (should be a T union), first carb to second, and block the return hose off.

That the water pipe you're on about? there was an origional vauxhall pipe to do the job taken from a mk2 astra, part no.90044408 I believe

right lado i just put mine on today ball ache but easily over comefirst alternator end has a threaded pipe like brake servo end put heater pipe on it with jubile clip brake servo dizzy end no vacumm fuel in blank rest off with bolts easy

iirc i have 4 pipes 2 from the crank case breather these need blocking off

theres one thats made off some sort of material its not rubber like the others is this the fuel return

an another that comes out of a big pipe that goes near the heater matrix i dont think its water pipe its too small ?

also is the two pipes from the crank case breather they can be connected to a catch tank?? does an oil come out of these pipes been looking on e bay some catch tanks have a window to see oil level

u bunch of numptys.blank return off for fuel brake servo and water in is all u need just put heater matrix pipe over threaded end and jubliee clip it up simple.u can also drill manifold and put a vacum on for advance and retard morouns

should i run a return to tank or just block it off

the heater matrix pipe (at left hand side of engine under bonnet)has like a plastic sleeve put into it, a small pipe comes out of this should i just block the small pipe or can i cut out the part were the small pipe comes off the sleeve

at right hand side of engine there is an s shape pipe that goes through bulkhead it connects to the alloy pipe under the manifold this pipe has a small 1 comeing off it to can i do same as above?

on the standard sr carb is the pipe that is kind of on the back right hand corner of the carb,(the pipe is made of material not rubber is the return or inlet pipe ?

i dont mean to keep asking but i am ready to connect all pipes up an i am not sure of the above things ???

The fuel pipe from the pump is the fuel Inlet.

can i cut out part of the plastic sleeve were the small pipe comes out an re join it so it will be just 1 lentgh of pipe with out little pipes sticking out everywere not connected to owt
