Gte cam

Is it worth putting the cam off a 1600 gte engine onto my 1400spi with t40s? cant really afford a new cam kit so just wondering if it will make a difference.....cheers

It will make a difference yeah.
1400 SR cam is even better.

Oh rite.....what cam do i have in it now? How much extra bhp will a gte cam make and would you be able to feel it? cheers

id go for the 1400SR cam too as its overlap is setup for carbs etc blah blah

you wont get much more power etc from it but it night smooth things out.
You will have a 1400 SPI cam (kinda obvious that) which i belive is the same as the 1.2 spi cam

Its different than the 1.2i spi cam.
It has more lift etc than the 1.2spi cam, but its still crap compared to a 1.4sr one.

sorry for bouncing in on the thread but is a 1400 sr cam better than the 1400 sri? and would it be worth putting it into my sri?

Not sure what the spec of the SRi cam is.
It doesn't seem to be listed in Haynes Nova or mk3 astra.

sri cam is milder but im unsure of how much by

sr cam in 1.4spi does make a nice difference, stops it getting breathless around 5k
