View Full Version : what mk1 bumpers are these!?
well iv already got a mk1 SR back bumper but this back one is different.
and the front one is one of those strip bumpers with grill connected to it and its got like a cover at the bottom aswell.
iv never seen a back one like it before and its got a splitter thing that can go on it and surround the exhaust
what are these off?

The front bumper is from the MK1 SR (early type) and the rear one is the SR OE bumper and the lip in the bottom is the GTE rear lip which attachs to the SR rear bumper.
Cheers
the lip is nothing like a GTE lip though. and it'd surround the hole exhaust which the GTE one dosnt do.
also it doesnt have the groove along the bottom of the bumper.
looks like a custom rear splitter to me... where did you get them from??
ive never seen a nova rear splitter like that before, i doubt its a proper one, dont think they ever made one did they? looks custom
well i was riveting on my alloy door cards and saw an escort reversing an i was like ah here we go who's this! then some old'ish guy got out and said, i'v got a set of bumpers for one of these,m you want them, and i just said yer lets have em. and the best part they were FREE.
iv never even seen that type of back bumper before, the bottom hasnt been smothed or anything, its still got the knobbly affect to them. and the splitter doesnt look custom made, its a perfect size/fitment to thye bumper and looks like it was made in a factory.
he gave me the front bumper and front splitter, side bump strips and the back bumper and splitter. he said it was off a B reg nova.
havent had a proper good look at them yet as it been raining all day and he only gave them to me at 1pm
cheers, lew
Looks like a standard mk1 rear bumper with a Sr/GTE splitter smoothed into it.
As for the other splitter, looks like a custom jobbie to me, it aint a standard gm product afaik.
Well, i've never seen one before anyway.
well its defo not been smothed cause iv just been out to have a look. will try take a better pic.
Ahh, its just a standard early mk1 rear bumper.
This has one too:-

couple more pics.

I cant remember seeing one of those splitters before.
If it is GM, it must be pretty rare.
im now going to spray these bumper anthracite, incase i want a change one day, which i will. and ill put that splitter on aswell, i carnt wait for a show now just so i can see if any ones actually got one!
cheers bud
has it got any gm markings on it
i would also say that its just a aftermarket splitter
good thinking riggy, never even thought about looking for markings. will go have a look later

no such thing exists as far as i'm aware, the only "splitter" that came on sports is the lower front valance trim
Give it some rev
