Just come back to Nova's after 6 months away....couldnt stay away too long. Some of the older members will remember J7OVA. Well the 40's snorter got written off, So I have just bought a pinky 2L (Will be red again)

Now I know it needs track rod ends, Can anyone send me a pic of what these are? & how easy they are to change, plus what I will need to do it.

I normally tackle most work myself, But Ive never done these before So havent a clue. I also have a feeling that the car still has 1.2 brakes!

So Im gonna be asking a few stupid questions no doubt!

no pics, but the track rod ends are the ball joints on the ends of the steering arms, they usually rust on so heat is needed to undo the little blighters. There is a 19mm nut that is tightened up onto the back of the jount, slacken that off then undo the joint (ther eis a hex on the ar to hold that in place while you turn the joint.
refitting is reverse of removal.

When you take them off, count the ammount of times you spin them round, and put the new ones on with the same ammount of turns. This will avoid some shocking tracking problems.

There rusted quite bad, since I always spend endless amounts on my Nova's I think I'll just replace the ball joints with the track rod ends?? would that be easier?
