if these are worn it will reduce lift etc??

where could i source some new ones??

these are the things which the lifters push down onto which pivot then let the spring push up allowing the valve to open.... or am i getting them mixed up.....

Yes.

The follower is the piece of metal that the cam lobe pushes onto the open the valve. The top of the hydraulic tappet sits in a ball shape cut in the end of the follower.

The O.E cam kits on Ebay would be your best bet for a new set of standard ones, and a new cam etc.

There was an old & new type of follower. Vauxhall revised the shape to avoid snapping when over revved.

are the new shape ones slightly shorter
will it make a difference if i put 1.4 sr mark2 followers on 1.3 head the 1.4 followers seem 2 be a bit shorter where they sit in their grooves
