gsi engine.... erm 8v or 16v?
the basic engine bolts in the same as does the gearbox, you use nova shafts though.
the rest pends your reply on 8v/16v
i presume its a 16v, seeing as its a corsa sgi engine he wants?

Yeh its a 16v dnt get 8v gsi corsas well as far as i kno!!!!!so can any one help! cheers
It fits straight in.
Use nova shafts.
Depending which 1600 16v it is, you might need the transponder chip for the immobiliser.

I think you should try to type tidy because your very hard to understand.
And to get 150+ bhp out of the 1600 16v lump you will need to throw quite a bit of money into it and you still wouldnt get anywhere near the same power as the XE because it has mush more torque.

a lot more work tho?prob best to just put in a xe as u say like but up in the NE of scotland their aint many kicking about and if some 1 has one they are needing way too much for it!plenty on ebay but would mean a road trip!no winning like
Fitting an Xe is a lot more work.
Need to use cav inner cv's, gte 22spline driveshafts, weld the engine bay etc.
1600 16v goes straight in and is tunable to around 200+bhp if you have plenty of money to spend :thumb:
