Hi,
I have removed most things over the years but never the gear lever.
Bought a gear knob yesterday from a Quaife sequential gearbox that i need to make fit!
I need to tap the lever with a 12mm thread then screw on knob. Easy i thought take lever off, take to work and get on the engineers in work to tap it.
How the hell do you get the gear lever off? If its a total pain i will just tap it in situa.

Help!!!!

Get under the car and remove the gear linkage. Its held in position by 4*10 (iirc) nuts and the 13mm one that holds the linkage to the linkage on the rear engine mount.

just tap it in situ, thats what i did:thumb: those quaife knobs are an absolute bargain and i reckon the most comfy and lightweight knobs about :)
