Well my Clutch cabel snapped, took it to halfords and they went mmmm, ahhhhhhhh, ohhhhhhhhhhh, i also asked them to look at the brakes cos they were pretty useless.
I phoned them today and the list of faults are:-
Advise: Needs the following:
1.Front Caliper Sliders (pistons ceased)
2.Off side rear brake pipe needs replacing
3.Brake shoes worn t rivets
4.Both handbrake cable frayed in guide
5.Brake Fluid 1280c
6.Clutch Cable Broken
7.Rear Drumson Max - (Worn to the bone - but still street legal)
8.Gear Mechanism that connects to clutch needs replacing.
To have JUST the brakes sorted its gonna cost ?300. Right what to say to that - Bugger!
So i have taken it out of halfords and am takin it to another garage, thats better and not using a bomus scheme. So hopefully cheaper!
Which brings me to my next point. If im spending money on sortin the brakes and clutch, i may as well use the bugger so no other boy racer takes advantage of all the new stuff. So im keeping it for a year maybe. sortin the rust. And parental advice - slappin some wide tyres on which means nice alloys! Cool!
Also the bloke at halfords also said that my brakes are shit, and that they are not even using 10% of thier power to stop the car- once again anothe big bugger!
anyway, thought id let you know. So i is a nova man again.
Anyway let me know what you think!
Cheers
