I am currently making my interior less harmful to my vision. I am starting with the door cards . I have ripped out the old ones and destroyed them and have made new ones, now its time to pad them and cover them. Not being a seamstress myself I am unsure as to which would be the best fabric to use. obviously leather would be nice but i cant afford it . I want to go for fabric rather than a smooth finish anyway. I was going to use acoustic carpeting but I would just like to know if anyone else had any better ideas before I do it.

try to use natural fibre as much as possible.
man made fibres load up with static and you could end up shocking yourself at a most inapproriate moment - like going round a corner quite quick or something... oops!

I appologise in advance if i sound ignorant, rude or in anyway derogatory towards anyone or anything - except in some cases when i intend it that way.

I recently made some new door cards. I covered them in some padding. You get it from rolls in curtain shops. It is white and looks like that fake snow in shop windows. Comes in different thicknesses.
Them i covered it in curtain material in black and red to match my bucket seats. Im a bloke so I cant sew so i got some stuff which you iron on.
Looks really good, got a pick if you want one.

I've finally got round to making covers for my front seats. They're SR sports seats but didn't match the rest of the Antibes interior....well, now they do, using fabric from an old Antibes rear seat to cover the centre sections....nice ;) (pics on novabug soon)
