i am 16 still and got one nova project part done as many of you have probably seen and have just bought an astra GTE 8v for ?200, iam probably going to break it as i want to strip and rebuild the engine and therefore sell the rest of it. Could someone tell me what else i would need apart from new engine mounts for the conversion? thanks

i wouldn't bother mate, you wont get insured on 2.0 8v, when you come to start driving

their is no way you'll get insured for a 2.0 8v. you'd struggle to insure a standard 1.3 SR never mind a 2.0. lol :thumb:

i know that but i want to strip the engine down and refurbish every part and once i have gained some experiance and a years worth of driving try and get insured.

theres no way in the world u will get to insure a 2.0 8v wether your 16 now or 27 a 2.0L 8v your lookin at a lot a lot of money.ring up insurance people and get idea,s.....

Still be quite expensive with only a years experience under your belt, but kudos for doing things the right way.
