avos are very good but iv found that wound down 80ish mm with an xe lump in and they tend to bottom out abit on the front, rears are awsome, carnt fault em.

on another not iv been told gaz are the best and spax rsx are good too.

I've heard Spax give a very harsh ride, on the soft setting,Lol.

ive got spax rsx coil overs and i found the ride suprising comfy, altho i do have 185/60 tyres so that probably helps. as for handling i havnt been able make it let go yet and ive been going round "private" roundabouts at 60 he he

AVO's are within your budget (just). If you have a 2l lump in the front ask them for 300lb front springs and you will be fine.

Harry Hockly front struts a really nice.
Transformed the ride on mine no end.

Inserts are Bilstein i think.

Might be in your budged not sure, worth a look though.

Gaz make the coilovers for Avo and they just put there name to them.Gaz are normal cheaper to.
Ive run Gaz and Avo coilovers on a fiesta turbo and had Gaz custom made ones made for a cinq 1.4 turbo and both have gave a firm solid ride which isnt harsh.
Mate had Avo's on his xe corsa which stuck to the road like s**t to a blanket lol
