1.3 carb onto a 1.2i engine

I bought a 1.3 carb the other day and was gonna plonk it on my car, the one i have on mine is a pierburg 1.2i auto choke and the one i got is a 1.3 autochoke i have no idea if its an injection or not, its got a load of wires coming off of it, so if anyone knows if this is gonna be a straight swap or if i need any more parts i would be most gratfull!! :thumb:

i know it doesnt have a carb on it as its an injection, just wonderin if in some how i could rig it onto my manifold, and will i gain power,

Hmm, to put a carb onto your 1.2i, you would need a lot more than the carb.
You would need to sort the fueling, as your electric fuel pump supplies too much pressure for a carb.
You would also need a different dizzy and coil for the vacuum advance etc.
You would need a different inlet, probably a 1400SR inlet.

It can be done, but IMO dont bother.
I would rather stick with injection than have an old carb that the autochoke keeps sticking on all the time.

Think you could do with reading the 1.2i tuning thread in the tech faq section, if its there as some of the guides dont seem to have been moved across to the new format yet.

Well i think i shall give it my mate hes got a 1.2 carb nova and was on about getting a 1.3 carb, thanks everyone gonna read the 1,2i guide i thinks,:thumb:

Ye, the carb will fit onto a 1.2 carb engine, with a 1300SR inlet.

there is a 1.2carb tuning guide too but thats not been moved yet ;)
