Rev counter wire is the green one on the plug. Needs to go to the -ve side of the ignition coil (the other terminal to the one with the black wire).

it will have an ignition coil. Look in the bay on the passenger side wing. just infront of the coolant header tank

There are two wires coming from it, does it go in to the black one? also does it need earthing or something?

the green on is the one you need.

the gague will need earthing to complete the circuit.

cheers

The black wire is a switched ignition, you need the other one.

im sure i had to run a new wire from the bottom right tab of the ignition coil, (so i ended up with 3 wires) the black and red didnt seem to give a reading.

mk2's will usually have the green wire already in the car so you normally dont have to run one

the wire is definatly missing. i think its a green wire and it doesnt appear in my car. so i guess i have to wire one in, but i dont know what wire on the ignition coil to put it onto...
