ino razor, just showing p1s arent 18k lol! sometimes cheap isnt bad, quick sales, not going to rush into owt, just considering my options. j

-Bruce-
14-02-06, 05:45 PM
I would agree with both of you on that point lol. But i would also say buy the best you can and look for a long time and find one that you want. You dont realy want to get stung when your buying a REAL car!!

11kish is cheap for a P1. When i was in the subaru garage in december with my dads car there was a P1 in there at about 18k. Very low millage and VERY clean, it looked brand new.

You have to remeber that the P1 was a rare car. Only made a small amount in 01. But any of the high spec phase one imprezas ( 22b, Type R, or even a sti jap spec) would be very nice. Im sure you could get a Sti type R for ok money, there a nice car also.

That is a very cheap price for a 3dr in that condition i think. Still would prefer a saff 4x4 though.

this might sound daft but what about a Cav Turbo??? its got Cosworth performance with a leather trim what more do ya want lol and its miles cheaper. and with the rest of the money left over you could have it running some pretty big BHP figures. just a thought thats all.:)

RJM25R
14-02-06, 08:32 PM
subaru will depreciate like a stone, as will an evo (once they gat over 50k, they're worth a lot less!)
GOLF Anniversary GTI 180bhp or audi S3.....

280bhp+ for not much money, and u won't get carjacked as often...

Or spend 12k on Esc Cos

NovaB3ast
18-02-06, 03:39 PM
Got to be the Cosworth, Old skool Ford's are every boy's wet dream and after you have the cosworth its gotta be the Skyline/Supra direction next.
An original 3dr Sierra is my plans after my dad owning one but if you want 4-wd you'll get a belter of a Sapphire for your budget with no ends to tuning it.
Cosworth Rayvern leather is one of the nicest/functional interiors you'll get.....
Heading for the Escort won't Hold its price as well as the 3-door sierra and In my opinion was just another model of Cosworth whereas the Sierra is the Real Deal.
Anyway.........It's Got to be the COSWORTH

TBH i would not spend ?10k on a ebay esc cos, evo 6 etc and expect anything more than a ringer or a car full of problems. If you want a good one then you have to pay the ?????? as with anything.

The Jap daddies are way ahead in the tuning game like, your BHP is only as big as your wallet with endless mods and routes to go down. I'd still say go for the Sierra Cosworth first, or even better a mk2 Escort Cosworth...........Class, Style, Speed and built to last!! You'll get one for around 12k and most are pushing 400bhp as these guys are obviously car addicts.Let us know what you go for anyway.......

Lee
19-02-06, 02:06 PM
Im curious to know why you dont want to go down the RWD route? What did you drive that put you of em as IMO you wont get anything to handle as well as an FR or MR.

jamie gsi16v
19-02-06, 02:55 PM
e36 beemer, its the way i drive as why a rwd doesnt suit me, dont get me wrong there very good fun but there straight line cars or dry weather cars, my friend has the new e46 m3 with ac shnitzer upgrade at 370bhp and on a (private road) my xe nova dusts him until we get to straights, there just to **** end happy and jump out on you, after driving my other friends evo 6 and escort cos they are so much easier/more fun to drive as you can chuck them into bends and not worry bout a thing, im defintaly going 4wd after driving differant types.

Lee
19-02-06, 05:16 PM
Fair comment, i can appreciate that. i get the same stick for running a wide track on the Nova, it just suits my driving style, so there lol

Dont eliminate the XR4x4 while considering cossies. Yes, there no where near as good as the cossie in standard form, but on your budget, you could aquire a seriously mint one and fit a supercharger. Cologne V6 lumps are bulletproof, and with a blower, are a force to be rekoned with.

And you'll have no lag!

from what i understand, the deltas if looked after right they are pretty reliable lol

The Deltas are awesome cars, i think they could out accelerate the ferrari of the day from 50-90mph or something...

As stu said, get one with FSH, owned by an enthusiast e.t.c and you wont have a problem. Just have to find a fiat garage that will provide spares for it and your away... there are quite a few alfa/fiat/lancia specialists cropping up now !

for 10k you could get an immaculate EVOII

Don't buy a pulsar, ok they are fast, but every single one will have been thrashed to death, either in this country or in japan. Plus they have a crappy top-mounted intercooler as standard which soaks up all the heat, so summer + urban driving is a ball-ache.

Granted they are nice cars, but more risky than a delta

jamie gsi16v

RHD Delta Integrales use the slow steering rack from the normal Turbo deltas sold here and was never done by Lancia. LHD is not a prob, I drive my Dads Yank tank and its fine, you get into it. An Escort Cossie for 8k will be a dog, whereas a Sierra Saph 4x4 is do-able for 8k. If you are hell bent on a Delta Integrale (decent, straight evo versions are over your budget and a lot of work), look in classic car mart, mainly loving collector owners there. I would invest in a Corrado VR6 personally, great evryday car and 5 stars from EVO magazine "still to be bettered for all round ability and appeal". Just dont get a Subaru as ugly 40 year olds drive them and they are common as f***. Subaru clit****, because every *unts got one

Give it some rev
08-03-06, 11:00 AM
yeah but bear in mind that Subaru's are a cheap substitude for a 4x4 Cossie (sapp, escort). and also they have a pretty strong drivechain and engine, and they dont rot. just one more thing, they built by the japs which means they'll do spaceship miles if their looked after.

Skylines are 2.6l (GTO and Supra are both 3.0TT, but the latter is rwd), and on a ?10k budget you'll be looking at an R32 GTR - nice car, but apparently they are a dog to work on :tard: :(

Agreed, theyre great cars until they go wrong, and you need a degree in computer programming as well as mechanics to put anything serious right yourself.

Apparently according to a friend who owns one, GTO's or GT3000's are a great drive, but you have to spend some money on the chassis as they handle like drunk sperm in standard spec.

How about an old Panda 4X4 running a tuned Uno turbo lump lol

Really? I'd been told they're about as interesting to drive as a digestive biscuit lol

Suppose they're quite heavy though, hence poor handling... Still, they look nice

Panda sounds like a good idea tho lol
