being as the btrda rally championship had its first round in my area it was only apt that the weekend carried on as it had done the last few years. To kick off with i had the normal rabble come down and stop at mine (Chris CP Stuart) Once all arived we had a good natter and a chinese for tea (or 2 ) and plotted what the following day would consist of. After mucho p*sstaking the next thing was 6.45 and kicking them all awake and the arrival of our final member (Bottlethroddy) Cue more p*sstaking then off out on tour.

I took them up around the pits first thing to see what was about and wish the few lads i knew good luck then out to stage. Rest is as guessed and all in all a nice dry day and perfect for the guys out there doing the business, which obviously meant not many close call views for the spectators.

here's a few select pics from the first stage we attended (and 2 of burtons 2.5 german touring car powered 306)

It was a good day. I was doing a spot of radio marshaling on Stage 2. Pity the 306 didn't make it off of the stage :(

I only got a few good piccys because my camera is not really setup for things wizzing past lol

No rain but ruddy hell was it cold!

Thankfully we drove on to the stage and could stay in the car with the heaters on :thumb:

what happened to burton mate? nothing major i hope. We sat out on the crossroads of serridge 1 and then walked further into serridge for the second stage of it as it was only 1/2 hr or so until they kicked off again as the time delay meant it wasnt worth travelling around to find another :)

looks like the few pics you got were good tho :D i had the same problem with pics but managed a few decent ish ones considering i had a my trusty old digicam lol

Give it some rev

mk1 escorts are still the best rally car of that era, tells a story when their still being used to this day. Respect is due to the Pug. :)

They didn't say what happened to the pug but it was a defo a mechanical failer because we passed it on our way out of the stage and it hadn't hit anything :D Apparently (according to my more experanced bud who I was with) its always stopping on stage for some reason. But when it goes it really goes. It was the fastest thing past us! I love that car :thumb:

was an excellent day - cheers to Dan for putting us up and for putting up with us:D (feed the worm!) I found myself in the middle of the break away splinter car group - "the fat *******s in Omegas" which was a bit disturbing although 1 of them has subsequently seen the light and sold hislol

The rallying was on top form though - the stages were firm and pretty dry and anything that was competitive was really flying. Best for me though were the group of assorted MKII escorts - they were making good progress and looked and sounded the part:thumb:

Lmfao at CP. (still manages to suprise me at the age of 71)

He will see the light one day i know it!!! Omega's are the way errr forwards for the next 12 months at least. lol!!!

Anyhow as for the day. awesome day once again. Nice hike in the country side . we must be the fittest of novaloaders now i think. But once we got to our spot again the action was great. PPL who think evo's and subaru's arent all that need to seriously get a grip . When seeing them used to the max they are truely awesome machinery. The mk1 and mk2 cossie powerd escorts are just fecking awesome. One car that needs serious handleing skill as its sideways action all the way round.

Anyhow big thanks to dan and his missus for putting us all up. Look forward to it again next year.!!!! Got some nice photos to follow and also some err Weird ones!!!
