Can anyone recommend any decent couriers that would be able to transport heavy car items?

There's a gearbox and transfer box (so you can imagine the weight) on fleabay at the mo that I'm interested in for my car, but its way up in Hartlepool :(

Right then matey,

I reccomend APC as being an excellent carrier and pretty cheap. The main problem that you have is with the weight. Due to H&S anything above 20KG as a single lift must be palletised, or have an assistance method to shift it e.g. a scissor lift. some will push the rules, others won't.
If you ring them then they will say it must be on a pallet. Best bet would be to see if anyone you know uses someone regularly that's more inclined to move heavy items.

cheers

easier and safer to rent a ****ty little van or borrow one off someone and collect it yourself.

that way you know it will get to you in the condition it left in, and you can also check its as listed
