hi all and thanks for lookin,

after looking and looking i finally got my wish and foud a rear cage for my car, its the safety devices 1, and only cost me a 50 quid!!!

Problem is the nob who had it before me decided to try and fit it inside a renault 5 turbo, which he soon reralised wasnt gooing to happen but had a good go at bending it first anyway,.

what im after is some pics of the mentioned cage fitted in to some of your cars coz i just need to see how it should be fitting, its ok ill get it in, have to get the ocycetalione out again but itll go in. if possible fitting pics to the floor and in to the rear,

cheers guys

Hi - My cage isn't a saftey devices cage so I don't know how much help this will be. But it will give you an idea whilst someone finds piccys of a saftey devices cage.

cheers, but that is compleatly different to the way mine looks, give me an idea of having it welded in though,:thumb: is this better than bolting it down as i dont plan on removing it anyway

will i notice much, if any, difference in the way it handles:confused: , im soon fitting an xe lump in as well just need to source a few more parts

that looks like the same 1 as mine, but it just doesnt seem to sit in the car prperly, it touches the drivers side rear arch but not the passenger side and is very tight accross the roof

and no it wouldnt fit in the 5, buts he had a good go a wrecking the cage to do it

Mine wasnt the tightest of fits, so we clamped it round the bodywork and pulled it into shape then tacked it in before welding in properly.

ps my pumpkin rocked!

ive had to cut and shut the fiesta one in about 100 places lol,

safety devices cages come with weld in feet that have nuts pre welded into them, you weld them to the floor and bolt the cage down, job done, piece of piss really, if the cage does not come with them its well worth welding some thicker steel into the floor or at least bolt a plate on the opposite side of the floor when you bolt the cage down or you will tear the bolts thro the floor in a big impact,
