Vauxhall Nova GTE 2.0 16v
Originally a GTE model Nova, but as you will see from the photo?s has now had lots of modifications done to make this a fabulous looking, attention grabbing car. This is a very quick car, and has been done properly. It is properly recorded on the V5 logbook as 1998cc.
It has been fitted with some good quality bits, please refer to full specification list below.
PLEASE NOTE that there is NO MoT (or tax) on this vehicle. I have not tried putting it through an MoT, but as far as I can tell the only thing that will need attention is some welding around the rear towing eye.
The specification of the Nova is as follows :
BODYSHELL
In all round good condition for the year, it was originally a 1989 1.6 litre GTE model, and has now been professionally resprayed in pearl effect metallic blue paintwork.
The car has been partly facelifted to look like the later GSi model, and is fitted with the Mk.2 Nova GSi front and rear bumpers, rear spoiler and colour-coded GSi sideskirts. It has a meshed grille (with air intake tube) and the front bumper has some additional meshed cut-outs for cooling. The trailing edge of the bonnet has also been raised up with chrome spacers to allow hot air to escape from the engine bay, and aid cooling further. A Japanese style square front number plate is fitted.
The front and rear arches have been rolled for extra tyre clearance. The engine bay has been seam welded to cope with the larger engine. The doors have been de-locked.
Fitted with bonnet pins, clear front indicators, alloy wiper arms, alloy pedals and a bee-sting aerial. The battery is almost new, and is fitted with gold plated terminals.
The bodywork is in good order, apart from a little rust just starting to appear at the bottom of the drivers door. Iin a couple of places some paint has chipped off the sideskirts. Obviously these few marks in the paintwork are commensurate with a vehicle approaching 17 years old! Note also my comments about welding being required around the rear towing hook.
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
2000cc C20XE 16v Redtop engine with polished cam cover (engine recently rebuilt). Special engine mountings and driveshafts to suit the Nova. The engine runs very well and not surprisingly this engine makes for a very fast car.
K & N cone-type induction air filter kit
F20 5 speed gearbox
The maddest exhaust system you are likely to find on a Nova has been professionally made for this car (please see photos, words don't really do it justice). It is a stainless steel exhaust system which sits INSIDE the car, behind where the rear seats would normally be. It is VERY loud indeed. The exhaust manifold and system have been heat wrapped where appropriate. The twin tailpipes exit through the tailgate, and a stainless steel heatshield is fitted to prevent the heat from the exhausts marking the paint.
INTERIOR
Mostly to original GTE specification, including immaculate front seats (no rips or tears), with the later style headrests. The rear seats have been removed. GSi steering wheel. Momo Air Race leather gearknob.
Corsa wiper and indicator stalks
Electric windows
SUSPENSION/STEERING
2.0 16v driveshafts and hubs
Uprated and lowered suspension springs.
WHEELS AND TYRES
15? Team Dynamics multi-spoke alloys in gold finish, immaculate condition and fitted with very good directional tyres.
Locking wheel bolts (with key)
BRAKES
Front; Astra GTE 256mm grooved and cross-drilled ventilated discs with uprated pads and ATE brake calipers
Rear; standard
