View Full Version : Heated Front Windscreen
Well i picked my screen up the other day from STE NOVA cheers lad
and was just wondering how the people who bought them on the group but had wired them in
thanks in advance
carl :thumb:
they are two circuits.
so one switch to control two Relays on two individual 30A feeds from the battery (just dont forget to switch it off lol
have you got a little diagram stu , showing the postion of fuse , relay and switch etc just dont fancy killing it lol
Ahh TWO relays lol
I've wired mine up but haven't had chance to test it yet. I was a bit concerned when the wires got a little warm by the relay. I would also advise putting in a small light bulb as well. So that you have an indicator for when the screen is on.
From the live :- Live -> Fuse -> Relay -> Screen -> Earth
For a indicator light, T-Off of the wire from the relay to the screen :- Bulb -> Earth
Then just wire up a switch to the relays. I hope this is right. I was told that its just a resistance circuit.
cheers darren ,
so i can use a spare nova rear screen relay , what pins do the conections go to on that , switches and wire to screen

Aren't heated rear screens standard on all models? lol

OK Re-wired mine. Still not 100% convinced its working though. I need to get it misted up and then switch on the screen. Anyhoo, I used these little relays so that I didn't have to bother wiring in a fuse for each. There kinda cool.

The relay pins go:-
30 = Main feed in
87 = Main feed out
85 = from switch
86 = to earth
I also changed the bulb to that it T'ed off of the switch circuit.

Although me and electricity have had a checkered past. So it would be good to get someone else to verify that this is correct. :thumb: (Stu?)
wicked stuff dar looks sound
what relays are they off then, and where have you put them just hanging down somewhere ?
as for bulb im using an iluminated switch :thumb:
I got the relays from my local supplys shop. I've used some old Nova holders so they just clip to the fuse box.
Dar, that diagram is perfunct :D
how much did you pay for the relays?
www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk (http://www.vehiclewiringproducts.co.uk) is my supplier of choice for most car electrical bits n bobs
They where ?6.95 each but I get discount so didn't pay that much.
Im saving that site for future referenence :thumb:

basically the same as wiring in two 100w+ spotlights or a bonnet pod.

cracking idea. you get very used to creature comforts in a modern car and then really miss them when you go back in time..
happens every time i go from my Evo8 to my nova sport
