Has anybody successfully done this? Was a bit pissed off to find I am being fined ?30 for supposedly parking where I shouldn't have been. Unfortionately I have no pictures of my car parked in the space, but I was in similar placement to where this blue Clio is:

The green Corsa also got a ticket. I thought double-yellows were only for parking on the road and they're not enforcable on the pavement side? Anybody clued up on this?

According to the Highway Code:

Along the edge of the carriageway
Waiting restrictions
Waiting restrictions indicated by yellow lines apply to the carriageway, pavement and verge. You may stop to load or unload (unless there are also loading restrictions as described below) or while passengers board or alight. Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time, unless there are signs that specifically indicate seasonal restrictions. The times at which the restrictions apply for other road markings are shown on nearby plates or on entry signs to controlled parking zones. If no days are shown on the signs, the restrictions are in force every day including Sundays and Bank Holidays. White bay markings and upright signs (see below) indicate where parking is allowed.

So yeah, you should have got a ticket for parking there as you were on the pavement which the double yellows apply to.

Dispute it anyway...

Usually first dispute and they will drop the charge ;)

Or increase it because you're annoying them... give it a try anyway lol

You could try and argue the fact there was a dropped kerb and no signs specifying no parking in that bit.

There wasn't a dropped kerb, it was dipped as in the picture. How would you go about arguing the ticket? E-mail, letter or in person somewhere? Worth a try, I like being difficult with things like this lol

you ain't allowed to park on/block the pavement. end of lol. but like people have said, why is that bit there and does not say no parking. Or they just assume people KNOW the highway code lol

they really piss me off, i hope you win if you apeal.

the only thing i know is that if the yellow lines dont have a yellow line crossing them at both ends (as to say the lines stop here) then they are not active and charges can be dropped, check it out
