MotorFactors sell everything you need.

Filter about ?3
Sump plug washer-20p
5L of 10/40 semi synth GM oil-?9

Drain the sump when the oil is hot/warm, then remove the old filter.
Fit new filter and sump plug with new washer, then add about 1L oil at a time until the level is correct on the dipstick. Dont over fill it.

ive never done an oil change, can never be bothered with it!

but i was told the way to do it...

drain the oil out into a tub
change filter and sump plug/washer
then add enough oil, tick the engine over for a while
drain that oil out, then add fresh oil to max dipstick mark

Ye, use the same sump bolt, but it has a crushable copper washer, if you use the same washer twice it might not seal and leave you with leaking oil.
Just ask for a sump plug washer on your local motors place.

fill the filter with oil before refitting to prevent the system being dry when first starting up after the change.

the way i do a change is. If ive not done it for ages, run oil flush (wynns or similar) through. Drain warm oil out, leave the bung out and the oil cap off for about an hour.
Refit the cleaned bung with new copper washer with a smear of RTV .
drop the filter off.

clean everything up and refit primed filter.

fill engine with fresh oil of choice.

i got a load of oil filters form autovaux for naff all.
for an old nova engine id say just use 15/40 or 15/50 medium quality oil. but leave the engine to warm a bit longer before raping it
