wrong way round mate

the feed goes to the rail and the circle thing your on about it the pressure regulator , that is the return :thumb:

tried it, it still wont run, ive connected the ECU as oer the valvers.com but what i think is the fuel pump relay isnt actovating i.e no feed etc...
p.s this is near the 3 little multiplugs near the ecu.

what engine was in the car originally ,

you said it the first post that the fuel system is pressured , so your fuel pump relay must be working

was a 1.2 carb. i wired the pump up 2 the ig switch as a test.

lol have you wired the ig live feed to the fuel pump relay then

if you have and your still not getting anything it could be the relay , can you change it for another

alos are you using the injection tank ?

very advisable

Sloth

nope its a saloon so a gsi etc one wont fit, different filler pipe points, the pump was direct wired as a test. not the relay, soz 4 tha confusion

as far as i know the tank itself is the same ? thought it was only the feed to it that was different ?

can anybody else shed some light on this

i bought a gsi tank, and tool mine out, on the gsi, the pipes are at the side for the filler, but on mine they go out the back in the middle

It wont be a problem using a carb tank, the difference between them and an injection tank is they dont have an internal swirl pot, so you may experience some fuel surge on corners, but it wont effect the engine getting fuel!

One thing i hope you HAVE done is put the metal injection fuel lines in?

I assume the ECU is getting power?

the filler pipe is at the side yes ,and on a gsi tank the outlet to fuel pump is on the back in the middle , and the return is on the front in the middle

it will fella i know of a few people who have killed their XE's because the have ran carb tanks and when they have either ran low or heavy corners they have obviously ran lean and then just melted **** lol

Oh yeah, i agree it definately aint clever, I run a carb tank but with a duel pump system and a front mounted swirl pot lol.

i was just mentioning that that wouldnt be the cause of it not starting!
