didit ever work or have u just swapped the clocks?
Its a pressure guage, not level.
come on lads you 2 shouldnt have missed that lol
as ad said its an oil pressure dial not a oil level
My guess is that he needs a 2pin sender for the oil pressure.
But 1.3SR's had them, unless the connection has become disconnected or something.

Its constantly of the scale (to the high side), its never worked since i got it 3 weeks ago (1st car).
When you key on engine off what does the gauge do?
when running the engine what does the gauge do?
ive got a feeling that your dash isnt the one for the model you have, therefore the pressure guage is being driven by the oil pressure switch, making it go full scale when running.

i was trying to find out if the problem had just occured (i.e. sender has gone tits up),
or has he just swapped the clocks over and found the gauge doesn't work.

so the pressure guage is off the scale on the high side even when the ignition isn't on?
/\It will be if the sender isn't connected or isn't working.
Without a 2pin sender the guage stays off the scale all the time.
It might have come disconnected behind the clocks, its a blue/yellow wire IIRC.
Also have a look behind the engine, down by the oil pump and you will see the sender like a barrel shaped thing with 2wires connected to it. Make sure both wires are connected.
