you need a router to allow both PC's to use the internet connection.

www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk is a good site for buying bits

You can pick up a cheapo wired router with built in ADSL modem (assuming its for a broadband connection) for around ?30-40... Or with added wireless for about ?70-80

bt routers are SH!TE!!!!!!!!

ABSOLUTE CROCK OF SH1TE!!!

sorry - had to get that off my chest

I got one called a D-link DSL 504T

cost ?70 - came with smart router - cables, ethernet and usb etc...

DEAD Simple to set up and looks the business too -

Has 4 built in 4 port ethernet switch
intergrated firewall
data rates up to 8mbls for downstream and 1mbps for upstream
Firmware upgradeable via HTTP/TFTP

what ever that lot means

Bloke in the shop said it would allow my missus to log onto we works servers without any probs - something the bT routers restricted (I had voyager 205)

You can also have multiple pc's running off it - and I;ve not seen it slow down either...

Well smart!
