I would like to give some more power to my nova but being only young i cannot afford the insurance how obvious would it be if i replaced the 1.2 ltr i have now and replaced it with a 1.4SR bulk?

if you replace the bottom end, no one will ever know, replace the top end and you have to change the coil, carb and other stuff and its more noticable
not sure if this is right, you you can make a 1.4, by using 1.3 bottom end with 1.2 pistons, 1.2 head or something along them lines....
if you arent intending to insure the change then DONT DO IT
just live with the 1.2 for a bit, save some cash, save some NCD and save someones life lol
thats exactly what i did,
started with a 1.0 lol
then 1.2i lol
then two 1.4 sri
now im finishing my 2.0 16v 5/6 years later :D

I have a 1.6 engine in mine and it looks very similar to my old 1.2i engine I used the same coil and dizzy you can do the same.
hope you get shafted by the police and insurance then.
for the 1.2 tuning for cheap see the guides in the frist 2 posts of this forum

the small block engines do look the same the the untrained eye. get anyone who knows what they're looking at under your bonnet and you're screwed!

Its a touchy subject, i have 2.0ltr vectra discs and calipers, the cars lowered 60mm etc etc though i cannot tell the insurance company as i would simply not get insured? any help plz
yea, but if you crash, you aint insursed.... do you crash into someone's car, then you have to pay repairs to their car etc etc etc

personally i think upto a certain litre, it might be worth it, we get fcuked for insurance all the time, but if its something stupid like a 2L conversion, thats just greedy and asking to get raped

I said that I have a 1.6 engine which looks like the old 1.2i one.
I didnt say that havent disclosed it to the DVLA or that I am not insured to drive it :thumb: .

if you cant afford to pay the extra costs, when you mod a car, you should keep it standrad till you can afford to
