My 1.6 GSi has developed a nice whining noise. Originally i thought it was the wheel bearings so had them done, and its still there, and getting worse and more constant each day.
I've dropped it out of gear and switched the engine off and still it makes the noise, so that rules out any engine related problems.
I've it on axle stands and i can't recreate the noise by turning the wheels.
It doesn't seem to do it at low speeds, sort of about 25mph and over...
Any ideas as to what it could be? I can only think of maybe the diff at the moment, but i'm not sure?
