i dont know the best options for this, but the jets you have will be enough to get it running i would presume, then like anything on carbs it will need to be rolling roaded so the carbs can be tuned to the exact requirements

so if i didnt get it rolling roaded straight away it would be ok an it wouldnt melt the engine like some say can happen

It should run Ok if its jetted for a 1300, and its on a 1400.

my 103bhp 1.3 was running 125 mains with 30mm chokes.

some where between 120 and 130 would be a good starting point i'd have thought.

it depends on how efficient the headwork is.

mine was setup on rolling road and has been together for several years now..

it gave 94@wheels

you shouldn't get melted pistons, it only happens when the fuel going in is stupidly weak, id think your sparks would disintegrate and stop working first though

its a standard 1.3 head an that i am using an the bottom end is standard 1.4

would it be better if i used the 1.3 head with the 1.4 cam

Jon_nova1

yes, thats abit like my setup, the 1.3 head will flow better than the 1.4 and the 1.4 cam has a better profile

so because i am using 1.4 bottom end it would be better if i used the 1.4 cam with the 1.3 head should i swap the cam followers over i mean put the 1.4 followers on the 1.3 head to use it with the 1.4cam

is there alot of difference in the 1.3 1.4 cams profile

not much difference as far as i know, but it all counts, i do know that the 1400 carb cam has the most lift of all, especially on the inlet

Theres not much difference between the 1300SR cam and the 1400Sr cam.
1400Sr is slightly better.
