basicly my heaters have been blowing out cold air sinse i bought it

its just passed the mot 2day so thats no trouble

and the temp gauge is working fine

has anybody experienced this and have any idea where i should start.

iv been told it cud b the heater matrix, the thermostat or a fuse (but the fuses r fine)

any help would b great cheers, Ben :wink:

Only the vents at the ends of the dash blow hot air.

If they dont get hot, then it could be an airlock in the heater matrix.

yeh its blowing cold air eveywhere.

i forgot to mension that iv just fitted a gsi dashboard and im not sure if the heaters worked before that (just bought the car)

could that be the cause if i hav sumthin trapped??

After you've been for a drive, feel the feed and return pipes going to and from the heater matrix.
They go through the bulkhead.

Feel if they are hot.

should both pipes b hot?

and if they are cold then wot does this mean?

could just be the cable fell off/ snapped on the switch

is it set to the hot position?? it might be on the dash but not on the actual heater, if you put your hand down the left hand side along the heater casing youll feel the adjuster for hot and cold, move this and see :idea:

john_nova1 u were right - the lever was in the wrong position.

i would have gone and bought a new matrix or thermostat or sumthin

wehay theres a first for everything 8)

done similar stuff myself and spent hours wondering what it is :oops:
