C12NZ with AST2 cam WTF

Been discussing in another thread about tuning the c12nz spi engine. Anyone have any advice or anything i should know b4 i try and fit it the kent AST2 cam, What i am worried about is the idle (tick over) speed, as the cam is very lumpy the spi could cause the engine to run to high on idle possibly causing over heating. Stu pointed out to me that the idle speed cannot be set manually on this engine. Or maybe the engine won't tick over at all, as the idle speed is set by the ecu at 950rpm and the cam being so lumpy just won't idle at low revs. Anyhow anyone ever tried fitting a high lift cam to a c12nv (other than the std GSI cam) cheers

Tbh, i dont think anyone has tried it on a standard c12nz.

Was thinking of going for a similar spec to your engine, with the 4 branch, exhaust system, better intake and so on. But it may just be that the cam is just to big for a mild tune engine (over kill) Anyone think this maybe the case?
