WINDOW SURROUNDS

after swearing I wouldnt get any,cos it seemed too much hassle just for a replica,I got some rear window surrounds,I broke one window off of an SR trying to remove them(buggering my idea of half tints for now) and with the other I cut the rubber.How do I take out my rear windows out without damaging them,n how do I attach the surrounds and put the window back in?-I aint got the front surrounds yet,but theyre coming in the pipeline,please help,thanx in advance

how did you get the rear surrounds off the car. the one's i tried to get were glued on and it was pissing it down so i gave up when it started to bend.

after "carefully" removing the windows,(putting ur foot thru em) peel off the rubber surround,and try easing it up along one side,if that doesnt work,go inside the car,and run a flat screwdriverin between window n body,levering ever so slighly,once out look at em and smirk like a big jessie,take em home as quick as you can,then think to urself"now how am I gonna remove my windows without breaking anything?"

get inside car and push rubber seal back over lip

work around the window (start at a corner) and once u have done say half a window then the glass should push out easy with no brakes


now to fit u need to take your window out the same

then fits surrounds to car

the u need sum strong string or cord

what u do is wrap the cord or string around the window rubbers and get a mate to push the window up against the car

working inside pull the cord and the rubber will fold it self over the lip and fit it self
once the rubber is all the way over
outside the car a slight push on the glass will have it sitting nice.

Have fun :) I did.

The fronts are more difficult....and you need ALL the rubber as well - the runners and quarter-light surround.
Oh, and the fronts are more difficult to remove without damaging them.....they slot on around the edge of the window..very tightly, so us a wide chisel or similar, and gently tap em off. Re-fitting us fun too!

the front ones i got came off easily and i didnn't need the rubbers(only the bit at the bottom of the window)
as for putting them on..... i hope youre good at jigsaw's;)
