Hiya peeps, im having a dilemma! lol im trying to source the usual bits for my 1st conversion, lump, loom, gear box, brakes, drive shafts etc. now ive looked in the local paper and ive been to see a few "donor" cars, now im useless, but i went and had a look at a cavalier gsi last night and the guy started it up from cold and we waited until the car warmed up, there was no white smoke or so i could see as it was fcuking dark! but is there anything i should look for specifically, the car was running a little loud at first but then quietened down, he said the studs off the box were fcuked but the engine was mint.
the thing that put me off biting the guys arm off was that the clocks had 200k on them now surely this couldnt be the oe lump it surely would've died by now! and he wouldnt say how many the engine had done
what are the "common faults to look out for" on these engines?
and in general any advice would be greatly recieved!
