Maximum Speed 2.0L/ Turbo, F20 & F28 with 15" wheel

Tried the search function but no matter what I put in (put it this way, I put in 'Nova' and got - no results match your search criteria - :lol: ) it gives me no results :(

Have you guys got any idea what the maximum speed would be of a Nova (assuming no problems with roadholding, etc) when fitted with the F20 & F28 gearboxes, on 15" GSi alloy wheels with 45 profile tyres?

I was thinking, with the power to pull max revs, 140 mph on the F20 & 160 on the F28?

I think you can work it out using gear ratios & all that but I'm a complete newb to Nova's. :roll:

assuming a rev limit of 6800, and a tyre width of 185...

also assuming you have the power to get there (overcoming aero/frictional drag etc)

If its a strong motor, you should get to the limiter in 5th, which equates to about 144 mph..

With an F28, you are looking at 155+, I know a few people with LETs that have got there, but havent had the balls to go any more!

the F28 will allow 170mph, with the right ammount of power at the wheels and the right rev limit yes...

i have hit the limiter set at 7k with a F20 before, the speedo was just spazzing out lmao

My XE managed 139mph on GPS at revlitmer (F20 on 195 45 15s)

my sums showed 143mph was theoretically possible so cant be far off.

I had 156 mph with std F20 :P . Now it only does 139 mph @7250 limiter with the Quaife box
