For the benefit of someone PMing me about a possible purchase & anyone else that likes 'work in progress' kinda pics, this is my GSi turbo minus its engine.
I found a fault with the std 1.6SE block a couple years ago & she has been sat without an engine in my garage ever since.
Cant decide whether to put it all back together or break it.
She's a bit rusty round the rear chassis legs & needs some welding toput right. Ive got another rebuilt bottom end & a shed load of bits to complete it. Rear discs, 288 front stoppers & power steering kit etc.....
Here it is prior to coming off the road in 2004

defently keep her mate she looks pretty clean
and love your stumpy mirrors
It depends on how rotten the chassis is tbh...
if the bay and boot floor are good, then just weld it up.

Thanks guys.
The rear chassis legs are pretty shot (spring penetration)!! & the boot floor is a bit gone in the corners.
Engine bay is mint however.
Dont break it.
You will regret it.

Does look too nice to break
like the stubby mirrors - did you make them yourself - any tips or guides? Think stubby mirrors will make my wide arches look even bigger.

Forgot I started this thread...
Well I'm gonna finish her off, got a pas rack coming off ebay, got the Saxo pump, & Ive found a local rally prep place to do my chassis legs & boot floor.
Ive got my mind set on a respray in THE most gorgeous colour. (my lips are sealed on that one). I'm going to fit a Corsa brake servo & hopefully sort the poor Nova braking once & for all. 288's & r/discs should help too.
So skint at the minute & the heated screen group buy is tempting.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Andy, Mart & Keith etc, your cars are inspiration enough.

Cheers Phil, I made the mirrors myself about 3yrs ago. I did em in my lunch hours & when ever I could steal the time when I was working at a bike shop.
3 months it took me. Cost about ?25 in stuff incl getting the glass cut. I had the idea before I'd seen the fearless ones on any of the featured Novas.
A lot of work though & mind boggling.
Progress is slow on the car. This bitter cold weather is not for holding spanners on a windswept drive.
