Please can you settle an argument with my cousin and prove him wrong, by everyone supporting me and replying to this message.

Vauxhall did NOT make a 1.2SR nova , they only made a 1.3 and 1.4, and the 1.3 was only produced in the mark1 version. Am i correct?? :?:

Also did vaxhall make a 2.0 nova??? :?:

:!: Can as many people reply to this just so i can rub it in his face please!!??!! :!:

They didn't make a 1.2SR, although didn't the Swing or some special 1.2 model share the SR shell? You're right they only made made mk1 1.3SR's and there's mk1 and mk2 1.4SR's. Also they never made a 2.0 Nova.

Is your cousin 5 or something? :P

Probably confused with Marcus Plowmans Nova, but AFAIK there were some kind of Lotus Novas in development, but never actually made it anywhere!

Look this topic has come up loads of times over the years i have been on hear, and every time the same reply is nope Lotus never made any...

{ max power}
A few years back, the boffins at Lotus got together to play around with a couple of Novas that happened to be hanging about. Some time later, they`d fitted them with bigger twin-cam engines and called them Lotus Novas.
Over in Northern Ireland, a bloke called Marcus Plowman heard about the Lotus Novas and decided to build his own version

Wher are they now then eh???

PMSL at this thread...

Vauxhall might as well of made a 2.0l 16v ;)

There is only a 1.3 SR 1.4 sr and a 1.3 GT ;)

1.2 and 1.3 engines are visibly identical, so maybe he got confused.

It was the sting only on a G plate.. Same as an SR however had the 1.2 coupled to the CR box

Lotus my arse, does anyone REALLY think that they would put their name to such a "Terry Tuperware" car like that!?

And there were no "works" 1800's either.

Having said that, remember they did overhaul a Skoda (or was it a Lada, can't remember now) on Top Gear once!

Where is all the tuperware on that car???
Fair enough the AX spoiler isn't everyones cup of tea, but this car was built it 98, trends change!!
And as for the vents, I don't think the owner is that fussed on the look of them either, but they aren't there for looks, 2.0 redtop and twin 45's, you need something to let cold air in and hot air out!!!!!

OK - so is MY 1300 G plate saloon a Mark 1 or 2?
Has side repeaters on wings if it makes a difference?

Hmmm-what would be the point in a 1.2 SR then?

And there were no "works" 1800's either.

I read a magazine ages ago where theres a nova rally graphics etc with the early Mk1 Astra GTE engine, which was done by the same motorsport lot who raced the Mk2 Astra GTE's

It wasn't produced by vauxhall, but was done by one of the vauxhall motorsport lot...can't remember details as it was only something i saw on the web...dated from the mid-late 80's tho
