Iv just bought this beautiful nova
http://www.novaload.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=119792
and i cant decide whether to take off the side vinyl or not
i think it looks clean and fresh without it but it will look dead cheeky with it on (after iv dun all the rest of the work that is)
wot do u lot reckon?
depends on what your planning to do to it?
i'd say leave it, if not doing much to the outside

iv got a gsi kit 4 it,
i was thinkin leave the vinyl on, black bumpers n skirts with smooth boot n clear lights. nice little vauxhall 15s with the 2.0 brakes and 2.0 rear discs peeping thru
guna get new paint anyway and hav the doors de-locked etc
keep the comments cummin ppl
cheers, Ben
Another vote for leave it on, I love the SR/SRi vinyl. Not sure how vinyl and GSi skirts would look though.

i dont know about that either
if anyones got a pic of the vinyl and gsi skirt combo then giz a look
cheers
would look ok if the GSi bumper was grey plastic...if its colour coded it will look daft with the vinyl
I also say keep the vynal, the side skirts would look ok against the vynal IMO, and as said paint the GSI bumpers grey to match the vynal.

i cud strip the vinyl off n paint it black upto the side strips lol
nah i dunno
il hav 2 see sum pics
if theres no rust under the vynal, leave it in place - you may actually damage the paint taking it off if youre not careful. You'll also probably find removing the vynal will give you a 2 tone car because the paint under the vynal will be fresh and bright - unlike the rest of the red which will have faded slightly. No amount of buffing will restore it.
If you wanna add GSi skirts you'll need to remove the side strips though coz the strips are too low and snag on the corner part of the skirts (the bit that rises up the arch). Just be careful when doing so - so you dont damage paint/vynal.
The best thing would be to lower it and get a decent set of alloys (cav gsi ones for example in black) - nice back box and leave it as it (with GSi front/rear colour coordinated bumpers)
