I have a C20XE lump in the Nova and I have recently taken the heater matrix out of the water system. Now I know that I can simply connect the two heater matrix pipes up and the system will be fine.

However I was wondering if I could block the two smaller take off on the back of the engine (black plastic pipe) One of which goes to the heater matrix and the other to the header tank. The other heater matrix pipe would have gone on the side of the head. Can I connect the header tank pipe to the side of the head with the other tweo holes blanked off and not upset the water flow around the engine?

Im sure i've seen the header tank attached to this part of the engine on a single seater.

Anyone KNOW if this would be ok to do?

If this is not explained very well then I will get some piccys up.

i know most nova conversions just block the pipe that goes to the header tank so you should be ok on that one

as for the other that goes back to the heater matrix - mine doesnt have one so id say your fine blocking that one aswell

not to sure about connecting them together though as dont know which way they flow ?

I think piccys would help explain it better.

These two blanked off. The left would go to the heater matrix if there was one. The right goes to the header tank. Also don't worry about the kink its there as a temp measure.

Then this pipe can be connected to the side of the engine where the other heater matrix pipe would have gone.

So it would end up like this rubbish drawing

But i would also like to know the answer to this, as i currently have two floppy water pipes linked together where they used to go into the matrix!

I've asked a few people in the know about this and they reckon that they are just auxiliary feeds, so it would be fine to do. Im still not 100% conviced just about 98% so I will ask a few more people and then give it a try myself. Once I have put my injection back on.

If anyone knows 100% for sure please post.

no... the hot has to flow from the head... do it like that and the header tank will allways have boiling water being forced into it
