i just had a look on e bay and there aint any gsi front bumpers on there so for the people who have bought them, how much were they?
afaik about ?130ish. I think Tuning.co.uk sell them, but you'll have to ring them.
No nova is insurance friendly as a first car lol, not even a 1.0 these days :( Have you got out any quotes yet?

illed rather buy a secondhand bumper then pay that :D
i love vauxhall cars, but the parts for them are expensive!
when people by a first car, they never consider insurance, think what you are willing to pay on insurance and stick to it, if a 1.0 is a few hundred under your price range, go for a 1.2 for example, and fone about as many places before you buy your car, you could get a better deal!
i insured a 1.2i nova with 14' alloys, peco back box, gsi boot spoiler, and lowered 40mm for ?1100 fully comp for my first yr!

i payed ?1800 for my 1st year on a 1.2 standard but was told it was that dear because of my postcoad :?
1.0/1.2/1.2i
for first car especially if 17...... thats my advice, but its your choice and your moeny at the end of the day
if your happy to pay 2k to insure an SR/SRI then do it
Try your local scrappys. its a hell of a long shot, but i was walking round my favorite scrappy and there was a sad looking GSi on top of a stack of cars with only a small crack in the front bumper. ?15 and it was mine and easily repaired and painted the same day  And keep checking ebay, new stuff is put on every hour!
As for insurance, your going to be screwed for the first few years whatever you do! if your going to be clever and keep the car standard, go to confused.com, it does save you time!

yeh its far better 2 find a 2nd hand gsi bumper
i paid 50 quid 4 a minter
and the chances r that ur 2nd hand bumper cud be a real GM (stronger than fiberglass ones)
cheers people ill keep hunting around for one.
and the poeple who said anything about insurance im expecting to pay around the 1200-1500 range on my first car, it will be either 1.0l or 1.2 max.
I would go with a 1.2i.
Theres plenty about on J/K plates, they are more reliable than carb engines, and less work is needed if you upgrade the engine as you already have an injection fuel tank etc.
Just look in the local papers, i bet you a quid theres a couple in,lol.

the auto-trader is usually no-bigger than a 3 page booklet over christmas
Should be loads cropping up soon though, christmas is allways a bad time for selling stuff . Not much on ebay over the last couple of weeks
