Nooo not a MX5, I'd go for the MR2...!
In my opinion MR2s stand out more and they don't look as simple as the MX5's (though never have been a fan)... MR2's are generally nicer looking... 8)
Swear I saw a picture of an army Nova recently but I can't find it

hairdressers cars are the new shape mrs 2's and mazdas, crappy mg convertables, the old shape mr2 has nothing hairdresser about it, its sporty looking and quite beefy looking, good on performance with the turbo version, i might try get one when i get me no claims in a few months,

MR2 turbos will be either imports or conversions. Good luck getting insurance on one of those if you're under 23 with less than 5yrs NCB...

IMO the MX5 would be the better choice for a "touring" car.

dont bother with MX5's or MR2's, just buy a 24v Senator. high speed cruising with comfort and if ya buying a MX5 or MR2 for top down action, well the Senator comes with a sunroof, what more can you ask for.
MPG may be a bit of a issue likewise with insurance but hell, you only live once lol

IIRC senator insurance isn't that bad... I was considering getting one before buying my saloon as back then i could have picked one up & insurance for a very decent price

Me too, it was just the fuel costs that put me off, plus thae fact a 2.0 auto Carlton was only going to cost me ?250 for a year
