View Full Version : Gear lever
ok guys i have noticed that some people use what looks like a mk 3 astra gear lever in the nova, does anyone have any gen on this conversion as my gears are as sloppy as hell
You mean the gear linkage? Yes you can use one from a mk3 astra (i think cav one's will work to). I'm not sure on fitting it though as i never bothered with mine, but i don't think it's a straight swap. To make my gsi gear shift feel better i just cut down the height of the stick and re-fitted my gear knob (aftermarket). It felt loads better.
Have you thought about buying a quickshift gear linkage? Only about ?40 iirc, but won't really cure the 'sloppy' feel to it..........
yeah i have also heard of the rose jointed linkage, do you know where i can find one, and can this be used with the short shift also?
usually the rose jointed linkage will be a "short shift" variety.
if your gears are sloppy then tis most likely to be the rubber bush.. get that replaced with a brass one and your sorted in most cases.
