thinking of putting 2.0 16v brakes on my turbo diesel would i need to change brake servo/ master cylinder? also want to de-restrict the car so i can get more power out of it without any major engine mods any suggestions?

Brakes should go straight on.

On the TD engine you can fiddle with the boost and fueling
IIRC there was a guide somewhere.

All nova master cylinders are the same 20.4 bore as are most vauxalls
The TD novas already come with the larger GSi servo. No need to change. Straight swap as for the brakes. Well worth it though.
Just be sure to check the one way valve is working correctly from the engine to the servo. i.e blow and suck

Ive had 2 TD novas and blow both up! Happy motoring!

Goes anyone know if the 1.7 turbo is bigger than the 1.5 turbo?
I was wonderinging if I could fit the 1.7 turbo onto the 1.5 engine, if there would be a difference in performance & without adding an intercoller, or that just daft?

The 1.5 turbo is an IHI RHB3, the 1.7 Turbo is an IHI RHB4,
as for putting it in a nova:

Just the turbo could be done, but you'll need a corsa b alternator support,
modify it and the alternator itself (with an angle grinder) to clear the radiator
and front beam. The same belt can be used, just need to take off the pulley
that's on the crankshaft to put the belt on (it's a very tight fit).

As standard, the 1.7TD's have an intercooler and the turbo's exit is pointing
down, so either fit an intercooler or turn the compressor housing (it's possible).

Cheers, J
