The replies went wildly off topic for 3 pages, so they've been binned. I accidentally binned some good ones too - but cest la vie.
Low points of 2005 - Getting stiched for a hell of a lot of money at the very start of 2005 which was gutting I can tell you, it also came with a drop in income, so at the start of 2005 things where not looking rosey.
High points - All the trackdays in the Nova and of course the birth of my little girl. As well as my trip to the ring.
Other plus points - The Nova and engine lasted another year!! That little thing has taken more and more abuse each year and its still alive and kicking. woohoo!! Although I may swap the engine for my spare at some point this year and then rebuild the current engine.

:(
Lows ( last 6 months )
Serious back injury - over working again. 60 hrs per week. Off for 3 months.
On returning to work the bloke who covered my position slagged me to the top bosses as being lazy - they listened.
He became my boss and immediately made my job hell - giving me half of his duties leaving him to do nothing .Which meant as a site agent he could sit at home all evening , whilst I took care of all needs .
In short - I was virtually forced into a new contract. I sought advice. On the first day under this new supervisor we had a meeting . I knew he,d pass loads of jobs onto me , so as a memo I used a dictaphone. Its impossible to remember everything that is required in my previous job - the dictaphone was a god send.
The things he went off on were nothing more than a disciplinary. I recorded the lot.I sat there open mouthed in disbelief , biding my time. He then followed me all day taking notes ,at the end of the day he demanded I give my version of what I,d done all day to him first thing in the morning in print.
I went home , played back the recording ( my wife wept ) I was stunned - I,ll never know how I kept my cool during that meeting - I knew there was some juicey stuff on that tape , but on playback it was astonishing. He openly called me lazy , but didnt know what I did all day.
I resigned - using variant of contract and constructed dismissal as my reasons. I told my top bosses and personell of the recording at a meeting - they shat bricks. The meeting become heated and I just ( silly now - should have gone to a tribunal - wasnt prepared for the meeting 20 mins notice and informed no witness would be needed ) told em to stuff it . I walked out. Theres more but I could go on forever.
The highs .
This guy who stirred up so much trouble for his back stabbing has now been on the board of interviewers for my replacement. He obviously smoothed things over with the top bosses again , but its now falling apart. He reckoned I did nowt all day - the place is now a shambles and unkempt. All the staff I worked for and parents who went to the place have been backing me up . Funny that for a lazy bones.
So at the interviews he laid down his demands to fullfil the position I,d left. His attitude was so rude to the applicants everyone of them withdrew application and complained in writing of his manner.
Things were so bad , the company then apologised for his conduct , and invited all to return for interview . They all declined .
Sometimes you really have to bide your time and wait to see how the mighty fall. I dont like to watch people go thru any type of down fall but just for this once - long may it continue. I cannot stand a rat at work . And I totally hate lies.
I,m due to start a new job in the new year for the same amount of wonga for half the hours , and hopefully with any luck there,ll be the chance of for once getting a proper holiday for ther first time in 10 yrs.
I still have the recording , and have been told if I wish to act I have 2 years in which to do so. Maybe after I,ve settled into my new job , I may take things foward.
end of sermonn.

Ade, gis a shout if you want to bash someones ear about certain lows of the year :)

Good stuff was me personally getting the LandRover project at work, moving in with the bird, learning to spray 2pak was cool too.
Lows... umm again nothing specific as ive had enough of them for ages so anything now is kinda not low anymore :|

hmmm...
Highs.
:D Definately starting my own company due to being treated like an apprentice on apprentice money while i was the one who actually had most of the knowledge in the industry, and actually watching it grow rather than holding onto my pants every month scraping the barrel like i was expecting.
:D My old MD phoning me up asking me to come back on twice the money and a company car offered as well. Kinda showed a sign of desperation on his part. Not a chance
:D Becoming club admin at PVG, something that came as a surprise, and made me feel like i must have been doing something right within the club, and helping design the new forum and club structure.
:D All the new friends i made through car clubs, Stuart, Dan, Scotty, Chris, t'other Stu (Novastyla), as well as some of you lot i talk to on here but have never met, and all the guys from PVG, some of whom are now very close friends, which means a lot to me as i am normally working so much i hardly see my local friends at all now!
:D Holding onto Hayley into the second year despite my relationship destroying addictions to forums, cars and playstation, and the aforementioned workload. She's been my brick!
Bad points??
:( Leaving my old company. Despite the breakdown in relations with management, i left behind a lot of good people i got to know over the 5 years i was there, and miss a few of them a lot! Giving back my Sprinter was a bitch as well
:( Finding out my Dad was having to cancel his visit from Brazil which was planned for next summer. Havnt seen him for two years since i went out there.
:( All the shit that went on with my engine at the beginning of the year which forced me to miss Donnington and cost me 3.5K more than it should have done due to shoddy work on the block by a now 'ex' mate of mine.
... and there you go. Problem solved... took me ten minutes of copy/paste etc but a job well done i think
