well i only found out today that my carbed 1.2 nova was registered as an injection and the only carb part is the actual carb, the cylinder head was for the injection, but it worked exactly the same :o

Well, you cant use a 1.2carb with a 1.2i inlet and cylinder head, it wont fit.

You probably have a SPI engine, not a carb one.
If your airbox has two bolts holding it, then its SPI.
If its 3 bolts then its carb.

he's got a square port head, but has a carb inlet with carb on, i've seen the carb, it has 3 bolts

Hmm, may i ask why? :? lol

The square port head will be loosing him power, and the carb inlet wont fit the head right unless hes modded the inlet manifold port shapes.

Yes, i know it'll be losing me power, thats why im hunting down a 1.2 head  and nearly wet myself when i got offered one for 50 quid  , i bought the car and noticed it had the square ports the other day quite by mistake when i had the head off and just happened to notice how small and square the ports were, it does fit, its just a crappy fit, the ports are too small and they're off centre :?

The 1.2carb bottom end is different to the 1.2spi one.
The bore size is a lot different IIRC.

I dont know how well it would run with a 1.2carb head on a 1.2spi bottom end(is the block a 1.2i?)
It might actually just be a 1.2i head on a carb bottom end.

I assume mine was a 1.2i engine and someones just put a 1.2 carb and manifold on :o

See what the engine code is
Its on the top edge of the block as you look down into the bay. Near spark plug 4
