right my water seems to be quite low, i need to go buy some more coolant to mix with the water, do i need to drain the crap thats still left in the water bottle or do you just add and coolant to it to top it up .

if you've got crap in it then i'd be tempted to say flush it. not really the best weather though. you could top it up to last for a bit and flush it in the next few days.

how dya flush it ? i heard there is a lid or something about the size of a 20p on the bottom of the radiator just open that and let it drain ???

you need haynes mate!

do this on level ground.

first you need to drain it,
take off the filler cap, then get a container under the bottom rad hose, undo the hose clip and remove it. (on 1L there is a drain plug uder the exhaust manifold)

then put a garden hose into the bottom rad hose and jam it up with some rags. turn on the tap and leave it for 15 min,
if it's still pushing crap out after this then switch the hose to the bottom rad outlet and do as before.

sounds canny hard, i been told you just undo the lid on the bottom of radiator and itl just pour itself out?

yes the old coolant will come out that way, but all the crap will be left in the system.

it's not really hard, just takes some time and is a nightmare if you don't have the space to do it.

i wont really have time, going down the motorway tomoro night, dont get in tonite till 6 30 so nice n dark, ill jus try draining the radiator, i think there is an aditive you can use to clean the crap out ill try that,

you'll be ok for a while to run it with the crap in.

it's one of these jobs that needs a spare hour or so. it's seriously worth doing IMO. i tend to do mine about easter ish when its a bit warmer :D
